Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Hoteliers and Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri by dialing 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

after receiving money, disappears and is no longer seen.
