Scammers Impersonate Police to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, police force, fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
