Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in central and upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not members of the armed forces, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the actual carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking your money, disappear.
