Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal guards.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
