The Lions Club of Sirmione presented a new handbook last week aimed at improving swimmer safety, an initiative designed to raise awareness among residents and tourists about safety in the waters of the lake. The project was developed in collaboration with several local authorities, including the Municipality and the Coast Guard of Salò, and includes the distribution of 30,000 flyers translated into three languages. The presentation took place on Friday afternoon at the “Dogana” Hotel, attended by institutional figures such as Mayor Luisa Lavelli and representatives from the Civil Protection.
During the event, Lorena Fontana, president of the Lions Club Sirmione, emphasized the importance of this project specifically aimed at swimmers, while Lavelli highlighted the need for greater awareness of the lake among its users. Marco Merlo, president of the Association of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs, expressed hope for broader participation from local associations to enhance the initiative. Finally, Massimiliano Quinto from the Coast Guard praised the commitment of the municipalities to promoting water safety, thereby confirming the added value provided by the handbook in supporting swimmers.
