A highly anticipated event will take place in Sirmione on June 21 and 22, featuring the open water swimming competition “Swimtheisland.” Approximately 1,200 swimmers from 14 countries will participate in a weekend dedicated to water sports in the waters of Lake Garda. The event is organized by TriO Events in collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione and other partners, and it will include various races starting on Saturday with events for younger participants, culminating in a captivating Sunset Swim.
The program also includes a celebration of the Blue Flag awarded to Jamaica Beach, symbolizing a commitment to environmental sustainability. The competitions will take place in breathtaking settings, including the Scaliger Castle and the Grottoes of Catullus, providing participants with a unique experience that combines sport and natural beauty. Mayor Luisa Lavelli emphasized the importance of the event in promoting sustainable tourism and enhancing the local landscape heritage.
