Two young promises from the Garda Karate Team participated with determination in the recent Italian Esordienti Championship organized by Fijlkam in Ostia Lido, Rome. The competition, held on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd June, saw Isabella Vigevani and Luca Arici as the protagonists.
Luca Arici was the first to step on the tatami on Sunday morning in the -48 kg category. With a total of 93 competitors divided into four pools, the competition proved to be particularly challenging. Despite his commitment and determination, Luca was unable to advance past the elimination rounds.
Isabella Vigevani competed in the -50 kg category, which had 65 participants also divided into four pools. Starting her fights in the early afternoon on Sunday, after over three hours of intense battles and waiting, Isabella achieved a prestigious third place. This result is particularly significant considering the high level of opponents present at the championship.
Isabella’s success represents a significant milestone for the Garda Karate Team and a source of great pride for all team members. Coach Giovanni expressed satisfaction with the results achieved and encouraged the young athletes to continue on this path.
The performances of the two GKT athletes testify to the commitment and dedication required to excel in a competitive sport like karate. Their participation in the Italian Esordienti Championship not only highlights the emerging talent from Lake Garda but also emphasizes the importance of supporting young athletes in their competitive journey.
