Despite the festive atmosphere, but still a bit gray, the increase in visitors to the lake has led to several emergencies, especially in the Upper Garda area. The rescuers of the Alpine Rescue station in Riva were particularly busy on Sunday. The first intervention occurred around 2 pm on the Ponale trail, where a person suffered an arm injury. Thanks to the prompt response of the rescuers, the injured person was taken to the ambulance for necessary treatment.
Shortly after, a second event required the attention of the operators around 4 pm in the La Polveriera area, on Monte Brione. A woman suffered an ankle injury that prevented her from continuing the hike. After reaching her and immobilizing her on a stretcher, the rescuers transported her to the ambulance for initial treatment.
A more serious accident occurred around 5:30 pm, involving a group of climbers on Monte Casale in Trentino, on the Vinschgerwind route. A woman was hit by a rockfall, sustaining a wrist injury. The critical situation required the intervention of the helicopter rescue service, which transported the injured woman to the Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento for appropriate treatment.
