A 56-year-old man has been reported for theft after attempting to steal two bottles of whisky from a supermarket in Villanuova sul Clisi. The incident occurred on Monday when the man, already known to law enforcement for similar offenses, was spotted wandering among the shelves of alcoholic beverages with a suspicious demeanor. A security officer, suspicious of his behavior, observed him from a distance and caught him red-handed as he concealed the bottles under his jacket.
After attempting to leave for the checkout, the man was stopped by the security officer. Local police officers intervened immediately, as they were already engaged in another operation nearby. Taken to the police station for necessary checks, the 56-year-old displayed signs of agitation during the process, even going so far as to headbutt a cabinet. A report for attempted aggravated theft and damage was filed shortly after the incident.
