The exhibition “The Color of Silence: The Art of an Intimate Narrative”, dedicated to the artist Enos Rizzi, will take place from October 26, 2024, to February 16, 2025, at the Palazzo Menghini in Castiglione delle Stiviere. This monographic event provides an in-depth look at Rizzi’s artistic evolution, featuring a selection of fifty works divided into six thematic sections.
The Stylistic Evolution of Enos Rizzi
Enos Rizzi, an artist from Castiglione influenced by his sculptor father and a student of painter Oreste Marini, has developed a unique artistic journey that begins with a naturalistic vision and evolves into a more abstract and contemporary language. In his early years, his works showcase landscapes with bright and luminous tones, characterized by a fluid application of color. Gradually, Rizzi moves away from classical perspective, gravitating towards an abstract naturalism. In the 1980s, his works undergo a radical transformation, emphasizing informal and abstract elements, ultimately exploring the beauty of matter.
The Use of Collage and Material
The exhibited works testify to Rizzi’s transition towards a new expressive dimension, marked by the use of collage and reclaimed materials, such as posters, torn and faded papers. These pieces, defined by a surprising essentiality, do not refer back to traditional figurative memory but instead explore the interaction between the artwork and discarded objects, resulting in a visual poetics that breaks away from conventions. The artist draws inspiration from the explorations of the twentieth century, without succumbing to the direct influence of artists such as Mimmo Rotella or the Cubists.
The Six Sections of the Exhibition
The exhibition is divided into six sections, each representing a phase of Enos Rizzi’s creative journey. From the naturalistic landscapes of his early works, it transitions to more conceptual pieces, such as those in the section “The Wall of Time”, which highlight the connection between past and present through complex and layered collages. Other sections, like “The Color of Silence” and “The Cave Paths”, showcase the fusion of painting and unconventional materials, revealing a dialogue between abstraction and visual poetry.
Rizzi’s art presents itself as an intimate narrative, a journey through the various seasons of his artistic life, where each work seems to encapsulate a part of himself, a memory, a fragment of experience.
