Valeggio sul Mincio, March 18, 2025 – The poetry competition **’Valeggio Futura’** is set to return for its **19th edition**, aiming to promote and enhance the **literary talents** of the Verona area. The initiative is organized by the Municipality of Valeggio sul Mincio, in collaboration with the Municipal Library, the Library Management Committee, and the Volunteer Council, alongside the Pro Loco Association, with the patronage of the Province of Verona.
The Sections of the Competition
The competition is divided into four distinct sections:
- Children (elementary schools)
- Teens (middle schools)
- Young Adults (high schools)
- Adults (over 20)
Participants can choose from three thematic categories: free theme, the theme ‘Clouds’, and dialect poetry from the Verona area. Each author may submit a maximum of three unpublished poems – never before published – with a maximum length of 40 lines. In the sections dedicated to children and teens, there is also the possibility to work in pairs or groups.
Prizes and Recognition
For the free theme category in the children and teen sections, the top three winners will receive a certificate of participation. In the young adult and adult categories, the prizes will be more substantial: in addition to the certificate, monetary awards of 150 euros for the first place, 100 euros for the second, and 50 euros for the third are planned. The same rules apply to the category dedicated to dialect poetry.
Special attention is given to the special category dedicated to the specific theme; here, only one winner will be declared for each section. The winners of the children and teen sections will receive a certificate and books as prizes, while the young adult and adult categories will award a certificate along with a monetary contribution of 150 euros.
