Union Brescia Clarifies Origins and Salò Team Integration
Union Brescia, formed last July following reorganization linked to FeralpiSalò, clarified that it is not a merger but a name change maintaining the same VAT number and registration from the acquired AC Salò in 2009. Marco Tonoli explained that the club’s origins trace back to the 2009 acquisition and that prior to this, FeralpiSalò resulted from a merger between AC Salò and Feralpi Lonato after winning promotion playoff matches and Lega Pro admission.
Tonoli, an author on local football history, confirmed that Union Brescia plays at Brescia’s Rigamonti stadium but trains at Salò’s Lino Turina, under a municipal agreement valid until 2027. He also requested the 2004 Coppa Italia dilettanti trophy, originally won by AC Salò, for display during the centenary and the “Cento Associazioni” event in September 2025, with the response indicating the trophy “follows the registration number.” The club’s history dates back to 1925, with ongoing memorabilia collection and exhibitions.
