Urban redevelopment in Desenzano del Garda: new lakeside promenade coming soon

The process for the third phase of the lakeside promenade in Desenzano del Garda has been initiated, following the approval of the executive project by the municipal council. This intervention, which stretches between Via Gramsci and Vicolo delle Lavandaie, represents the final piece of an important urban redevelopment aimed at enhancing the connection between the historic center and the Desenzanino beach. The new section, approximately 200 meters long and 9 meters wide, will be constructed entirely on public land without interfering with existing structures, utilizing sustainable materials such as granite and red Verona marble.

Mayor Guido Malinverno emphasized the significance of this project, which is the result of collaborative efforts between local and regional authorities. Public Works Councillor Giovanni Maiolo highlighted how this initiative not only improves urban quality but also promotes sustainable mobility and tourism. Particularly noteworthy will be the connection point with the historic lakeside promenade, known as the “Discesa delle Lavandaie,” which will be adorned with commemorative statues honoring the women of Desenzano from the past. The construction is scheduled for autumn 2025, with a strong focus on accessibility and environmental sustainability.
