Vinitaly 2025: 84 Wineries from Brescia Take Center Stage in Verona. The province of Brescia is set to shine at the 57th edition of Vinitaly, the leading wine exhibition, which will take place from April 6 to 9 in Verona. With 84 wineries representing the diverse wine varieties of Brescia, the event highlights the production of over 47 million bottles, of which 95% are designated as DOC, DOCG, and IGT. Laura Facchetti, president of Coldiretti Brescia, emphasizes that this participation is not merely a showcase, but an opportunity to promote agriculture that values quality and sustainability.
However, the wine sector is concerned about the implications of U.S. tariffs. Silvano Brescianini, vice president of Coldiretti Brescia, has expressed the urgency of addressing this issue to avoid disruptions in shipments and investments towards a strategic market like the U.S. According to estimates, the average grape production in Franciacorta reaches 300,000 quintals, with dedicated areas ranging from 3,200 hectares in the Franciacorta DOCG to 2,450 hectares in the Lugana area. Thus, participation in Vinitaly represents not only a celebration of Brescia’s winemaking tradition but also a strategic necessity for the future of the sector.
