A young woman in her twenties was raped on the night of July 6th in Toscolano Maderno. The visibly shaken and undressed victim was spotted on the street by a motorist around 3 a.m. After seeking help and recounting that she had been sexually assaulted in a nearby residence, her alleged attacker, a 27-year-old Albanian man with a criminal record, attempted to attack the man who was assisting her. The two managed to escape, and the girl was subsequently taken to the hospital where clear signs of the violence she had suffered were observed.
The carabinieri immediately launched an investigation and were able to identify and apprehend the suspect on the same day. The victim told investigators that she knew the man because she bought cocaine from him and that they had spent the evening together drinking alcohol before the assault. Medical examinations revealed a high blood alcohol level in the young woman at the time of the attack. The alleged perpetrator will soon be presented before a judge for the validation of his arrest.
