CASTIGLIONE DELLE STIVIERE: YOUNG MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AND WEAPONS
A 22-year-old man from the province of Verona was arrested in Castiglione delle Stiviere on Thursday, February 6, following a violent confrontation with the Carabinieri. The operation was initiated after a report was made to 112 regarding two suspicious individuals near a store. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, an unattended car was found containing a 20 cm knife, a multi-tool knife, and a compressed air pistol without the red tip.
During the check, the young man approached the car displaying aggressive behavior that hindered the officers’ operations. Despite attempting to flee and resisting arrest, the Carabinieri managed to subdue him. One officer sustained knee injuries during the altercation. A search also revealed approximately two grams of hashish in the young man’s possession. He was transferred to the Mantova Prison and is currently at the disposal of the Judicial Authority while preliminary investigations into the case continue.
