Alto Garda Infrastructure Boost: €12.5 Million Tender for San Giovanni-Cretaccio Tunnel

Trento Province has launched a €12.5 million tender to upgrade infrastructure on the Alto Garda route, including LED lighting, ventilation, and fire safety systems in the San Giovanni-Cretaccio tunnel, part of the Loppio-Busa road link. The project, 90% complete, features a semi-transverse ventilation system via upper tunnels to enhance safety and functionality.

Meanwhile, work continues on other segments of the San Giovanni–Cretaccio connection. A financial plan for the Maza-Cretaccio section has been approved with a €30 million investment, and design contracts are underway for road upgrades and roundabouts in areas including via Sabbioni, via Aldo Moro, and Bolognano. The tunnel is scheduled to be completed by 2026.
