Verona Heritage Tour: Malcesine Castle, Tastings, and Cultural Heritage

Tomorrow marks the third meeting of «The Unseen Treasures», an initiative to promote the cultural and artistic heritage of Verona, promoted by the Environmental Heritage Councilor of the Province, Giovanni Antonio Capuzzo, and carried out in collaboration with sector associations, relevant public entities, and municipal administrations.

Excursion to Malcesine

The overview of Verona’s history reaches Malcesine, a lakeside town that boasts a rich past from the late Middle Ages through the Scaliger period, the long dominance of the Serenissima Republic, and culminating in the famous visit by the German writer W. Goethe.

Attendees will be shown the Castle and the Palazzo dei Capitani. A history that has earned the lakeside town the title of «Pearl» of Garda.

Itineraries and Tastings

The tours will begin at 3 PM at both monuments, with a second round starting at 4:30 PM; each itinerary will last about an hour, allowing participants time to move between locations using their own means.

At the end of the day, around 6 PM, a tasting of lake fish spaghetti and DOC wines will be offered at the Palazzo dei Capitani. The tasting is sponsored by the Comune di Malcesine in collaboration with the Fraglia della Vela Association.

The contribution required to attend the tasting (5,000 lire) will support the initiative entitled «Taste Art and… Reignite Your Artistic Heritage», aimed at restoring the ancient splendor of a work of art clouded by time, and chosen by the public through a dedicated voting sheet from those proposed by the Municipalities hosting the event days.
