Brescia’s Lunedì del Sancarlino Features Essays, Debuts, and Performances
The literary proposal of the “Lunedì del Sancarlino”, organized by the Assessorato alla Cultura della Provincia di Brescia and coordinated by Mariano Comini, once again chooses for the cycle “Saggi e Memoriali” – following an initial series of meetings launched last season – to focus on essays in their most diverse facets.
This involves discussing ideas and reflections on historical, political, philosophical, and literary subjects related to collective memory in some cases, and personal memory in others.
Conversations with authors and critics
Carla Boroni, who curates this section, invites Enzo Bettiza, Giuseppe Pontiggia, Annamaria Andreoli, Chiara Frugoni, Valerio Massimo Manfredi, Angelo D’Orsi to respond and engage in discussions with university professors, critics, economics, philosophy, and politics journalists.
Two debut authors, already becoming literary phenomena, are also featured: Camilla Baresani with her novel “Plagio”, published by Mondadori, and Evelina Santangelo, Gandovere Award and Giuseppe Berto First Work Award winner, for her collection of stories “L’occhio cieco del mondo”.
Performances and special events
A highlight is offered by Roberto Piumini – writer, poet, and actor – with his performance “…Tre d’amore…”, performed together with Giovanni Caviezel and Andrea Basevi.
The calendar of events is concluded with the traditional Christmas Concert, scheduled for December 21, performed by the Accademia Vivaldiana di Venezia with the Coro Polifonico Amurianum.
