Castiglione Approves Private Elderly Care Proposal and Public Facility Plans

The Castiglione administration, prior to the upcoming meeting scheduled in the coming days to discuss the future of the elderly care facilities in Castiglione, officially states its position.

It does so through a joint statement from the representatives of its three political lists, which make up the city council group leaders.

The statements consider all the factors that have emerged in recent days, from the proposal to build a private nursing home to the renovation of the Zanetti Cominelli facility, as well as the construction of a new public structure.

Position on the private RSA proposal

“The administration has received a proposal from the companies Coghi, Scattolini, and Foroncelli for the creation of a new RSA in Castiglione. A draft of the agreement is also attached.

The administration, regarding this initiative, expresses a favorable opinion and commits to submitting it for council approval, along with the intention to support its inclusion in the urban planning tools.”

This stance, which essentially indicates a preliminary acceptance of the private nursing home proposal, is also followed by a position regarding the existing nursing home and the proposed construction of a new public facility.

Commitments for public facilities

“The administration commits to allocating an annual budget, to be defined in relation to regional funding, to support the interventions that the Ipab Zanetti-Cominelli will carry out to have a functional facility.

In the event of a new construction, this administration — the group leaders conclude — commits to acquiring and making available a suitable area for the nursing home.”

In short, an acceleration for the development of the facilities.
