Salò Post Office Renovation Boosts Services and Accessibility

Three months of work, and the Salò post office has a new look. Reopened in early February, it was officially inaugurated yesterday morning. “It is one of the largest in Lombardy,” explained Alfio Squillaci, the director of the Brescia 2 zone, which includes the valleys and the two lakes.

Salò accounts for 6% of our revenue, a constantly growing reality.” The project was designed by the studio Mdl by Michele De Lucchi and other architects. Removing the partition glass, the area on via Canottieri, now brighter, is divided into two sectors: Bancoposta, in navy blue (money orders, current accounts, pension collection, savings bonds), and Postal Services, in pea green (letters, registered mail, parcels).

Hours and Services

Opening hours: from 8:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (only until 1 p.m. on Saturdays). The counters connected online with the 14,000 Italian offices number four. “Digitization allows us to perform more functions and speed up operations,” added Squillaci.

Soon, we will also place an Internet station at the entrance, available for customers.” There are also separate rooms for confidential consultations. Particular attention has been paid to security issues and accessibility for people with disabilities.

Security Measures and Accessibility

A tactile map helps the visually impaired navigate. Present at the inauguration were also the regional director Salvatore Cocchiaro (“our clientele is mainly local, and we want to ensure the best possible reception”), the head of the territorial network Vittorio Mei, the president of the Alto Garda mountain community Bruno Faustini, the parish priest Francesco Andreis, Mayor Giampiero Cipani (“a very nice intervention that strengthens Salò’s regional role”), and Flaviana Rozzini, the shining director of the office.

Meanwhile, the mobile house that temporarily accommodates employees and users has headed to Limone, where the next renovation will take place. Afterwards, it will be Gardone and Vobarno’s turn.
