Roè Volciano Tenor Ruben Pelizzari Wins Festival della Lirica Title
It is a resident of Roè Volciano, Brescia, who has won the 7th edition of the “Festival della Lirica” held in San Remo a few days ago.
Ruben Pelizzari, a beautiful voice of a lyric spinto tenor, prevailed over a group of more than 130 contestants from all over the world, competing for the prestigious trophy which also enjoys the High Patronage of the President of the Republic.
The finalists were chosen based on votes from a jury composed of critics and industry experts, while the final evening’s ranking was determined solely by the audience present in the theater, who greeted Ruben Pelizzari’s performances with a genuine ovation.
Performance and Musical Preferences
For the grand finale, the Brescia-born tenor selected “E Lucean le Stelle” from Tosca by Puccini and “O tu che in seno agli Angeli” from La Forza del Destino by Verdi.
It is precisely Verdi and Puccini that Ruben Pelizzari favors.
However, this singing tenor is no stranger to triumphs, despite being relatively new to his career.
In fact, he has already won a prestigious award dedicated to a great tenor of the past: Ismaele Voltolini.
Experience and Education
Furthermore, he participated in a tour in Germany, during which he performed in 25 concerts over 26 days.
Ruben Pelizzari began singing only three years ago, under the guidance of a celebrated figure from the past: mezzo-soprano Adriana Lazzarini.
She retired from the stage at a young age in 1975 after a 25-year career, during which she triumphed at all the major theaters around the world, under the direction of the most prestigious maestros: Bizet’s Carmen and Verdi’s Il Trovatore, where she was an unmatched Azucena, one of her signature roles.
Another one of her students worth mentioning is Soprano Donatella Gallerini, who is already on the path to success.
Family Connections and Collaborations
But with Adriana Lazzarini, it is also important to remember her valuable collaborator, her husband Vittorio Pellegrini: an artist himself, who for 35 years sang as a tenor in the Coro della RAI.
