Castiglione Approves New Hotel, Enhancing Alto Mantovano Tourism
Soon, the town of San Luigi will have a new large hotel, complete with a conference center. The preliminary project was recently approved by the city council, and it will now undergo a long bureaucratic process before construction can begin.
The new facility will be located south of Castiglione, along the former Goitese state road, after the Benaco shopping mall towards Mantova. The hotel will feature 64 double rooms, ample parking lots, a restaurant with 150 seats, and a meeting room for 260 people.
This accommodation will undoubtedly attract those in the Alto Mantovano area for work or leisure, perhaps for a quick ten-minute drive to Lake Garda.
It will also serve events that draw hundreds of people, such as visits from sister cities abroad or Red Cross events. The new hotel will be the seventh in Castiglione.
Existing accommodations in Castiglione
According to data provided by the Municipal Office of Production Activities, among the existing accommodation facilities is the Belvedere hotel on via Guardi, with 76 beds and 4 stars, followed by the Grotta hotel on via Dei Mandorli, which can host 50 guests and has 3 stars.
In order of size, there are also the Nº 5 hotel near Piazza Dallò (27 beds, 2 stars), the Lido on via Nodari (35 beds, 1 star), the Villa Rosa Hotel on via Mantegna (22 beds, 3 stars), and finally Corte delle Rose on the road to Desenzano (19 beds, 3 stars).
It is worth noting that, besides traditional hotels like those listed above, there are numerous farm stays throughout the territory. This new form of hospitality, very popular in the Alto Mantovano, combines tranquility with good cuisine.
