Lakeside Festivities and Events in Sirmione, Desenzano, and Tignale
Along with the Feast of S. Luigi in S. Martino della Battaglia, featuring a spit roast (and salted meat, and whatever else) to lick your… ears, the Basso Lago region hosts the Rovizza Festival this weekend, in the territory of Sirmione at the border with Verona. Organized by the Alpini. Music, dance, gastronomic specialties, games for adults and children.
Gastronomic and musical events on the lakeside
In Desenzano, tomorrow, the Fish Festival in Piazza Cappelletti, organized by the Amici del Porto Vecchio. For the “Sei chitarre sole” (Six Guitars Sun) series, Derek Bailey, Italo De Angelis, Sandro Gibellini, Paolo Angeli, Duck Baker, and Mike Cooper will perform in the cloister of S. Maria de Senioribus on the 6th, 7th, and 8th.
Valtenesi offers a series of events. In Padenghe, tonight, dancing and refreshments in Contrada Torricella; Sunday, music by Mozart and Schubert in the castle.
In Moniga, tonight, in Piazza S. Martino, the Spaccapietra with their 1960s musical repertoire. In San Felice, for the “Cinema in the Garden” series, at 9:30 PM, screening the films “Chocolat” (tonight), “Le verità nascoste” (tomorrow), and “Billy Elliot” (tomorrow).
Sports and cultural activities
At the sports field, where the district football tournament is underway, the Oratorio Youth Festival concludes. In Polpenazze, the nocturnal trophy event continues with rich gastronomic offerings.
In the Picedo hamlet, the Madonna del Carmine Festival. At the Soiano castle tonight, the band ” Chack and the Rockyn Blisters“; tomorrow, comedian Pino Campagna, directly from Raidue (“La sai l’ultima”).
In Puegnago, tonight, the theatrical comedy “Scarpe e sopei” by the Carzago company.
Events in the lower lake
Moving to the upper lake. In Salò, at 8:30 PM, in the garden of the Liceo, along the lakeside, the Festival of Bands: tonight, the Milan Corps (while the Sinus Felix of San Felice will perform at the social center), and tomorrow, Mondovì.
Villa organizes an ecological bike ride, open to all (Saturday at 5 PM), and a race named after Giacomo Miloni (Sunday at 9 AM). Also tomorrow, an educational-cultural excursion to the Isola del Garda, organized by the library: 10 AM, meeting at the Barbarano marina. Reservation required.
In Gardone Riviera, tonight, on the lakeshore, the ” Drums & Voice” trio; Sunday, the Beatops quartet, with the best songs of the Beatles. Saturday marks the opening of the Vittoriale season with Giuseppe Verdi’s “Messa da Requiem,” performed by the orchestra and chorus of the Fiume Opera Theatre.
In Toscolano Maderno, the Gaino Festival is underway, offering local specialties and ballroom dancing (tomorrow at 2 PM, the archers of Montegargnano perform, and Sunday, the Angels of S. Michele fly in a parapent). Tomorrow, at 9:30 PM, in the former hippodrome, the first jazz and swing event featuring Stefano Caniato (piano), Gianni Alberti (clarinet, sax), Franco Capiluppi (trumpet), Mauro Serteno (double bass), and Sergio Mazzei (drums). Artisans’ market in Piazza Bernini and Via Trento (10 AM-12 PM and 4 PM-10:30 PM).
In Gargnano, tonight, concert by the Toscolano Maderno band (at Bogliaco); tomorrow, El Fuff popular tombola (at Villavetro); on the 7th and 8th, organic product market. In Limone, Sunday, with a live music evening featuring jazz and rock bands (at 9 PM, in the ” Daniele Comboni” conference hall).
In Tignale, tomorrow, at 9 PM, a rock concert at the Ginestre square. In Tremosine, on the 7th, clown performance in the Pieve square; on the 8th, Alpini Festival at Passo Nota.
