Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those having nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after collecting the money, disappears without a trace.
