Garda Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to Army magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police forces.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those with no connection to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear without a trace.
