Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Area to Impersonate Law Enforcement

They impersonate carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions from the Carabinieri.

They are not real military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Beware of scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after getting the money, disappear.
