Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after collecting the money, disappear.
