Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to arm-related magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire department, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who, after taking the money, disappear without a trace.
