Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant operators in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after taking the money, disappears.
