Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Trick Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,

had the money, and then disappear.
