Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Mid and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,

once they have the money, disappears and is no longer visible.
