Scammers Impersonate Police to Trick Garda Businesses into Payments

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.
