Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri in Garda Area, Authorities Warn

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines linked to the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
