Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Targeting Garda Area Businesses
They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and High Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.
They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.
How to recognize scams and how to react
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by those who,
had money, no longer show themselves.
