Scammers Impersonating Carabinieri Target Businesses in Garda Area

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you have the suspicion that you have been targeted by individuals who,

wanting money, disappear and are no longer visible.
