Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when phoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines from the armed forces.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by individuals who,
