Fraudulent Calls in Garda: Carabinieri Impersonators Seek Money

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,

would seek money, but then disappears.
