Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These individuals are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police force.

Recognizing the scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, in search of money, disappears afterward.
