Fake Carabinieri Scammers Target Garda Business Owners with Fraudulent Magazine Offers

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda by phone, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have no connection with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have become a target of someone who,
