They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to military-related magazines.
They are not military personnel, but scammers who occasionally claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.
How to Recognize Scams
They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have fallen prey to someone who,
