Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the authorities.
