Scammers Pose as Police Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They make calls pretending to be Carabinieri in contact with hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the army.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, if they have money, no longer show themselves.
