Garda Area Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when phone contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing magazine subscriptions from the arma.
They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance office, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.
How to recognize scams
They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately contact the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have become a target of those who,
having money, no longer show themselves.
