Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri in Garda Area

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to identify scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect that you have been targeted by someone who,

seems to have money but then disappears.
