Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri, Targeting Garda Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to the armed forces‘ magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who,
