Garda Region Scam Alert: Fake Police Impersonators Target Local Businesses

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
