Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or municipal guards.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

would have money, and then disappears.
