Garda Area Scammers Pose as Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the regiment’s magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal guards.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
