Carabinieri Scam Targeting Garda Hospitality and Retail Sectors

The scammers pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to their magazine.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by someone who,

has money but no longer shows up.
